Larry Johnson is no longer a running back for the Kansas City Chiefs American Football team.
Can't say I'm delighted to lose such a talented player but this man has a selfish and deluded personality and in the long run the team will be better off without him.
Despite the gay slurs which caused him to be released Johnson has gone purely because of his recent poor performances.
If he had any value then the Chiefs would have held onto him until a trade could be done.
I have a niggling feeling that Johnson engineered this move. A better team will sign him and he'll have a better chance of featuring in the play offs.
The difference between Johnson and former Chief tight end Tony Gonzalez is stark. It's obvious both wanted that Superbowl ring and with the Chiefs deep in rebuilding and 1-7 for this season, success is a long time away. Whilst Gonzalez bided his time and was eventually traded in a deal which benefitted all, Johnson threw his dummy around training camp, and eventually a hissy fit which sound to contrived to be real.
The end result is the same. Both are gone and the Chiefs must look to younger players. The Chiefs must look forward not back.
